COVE ANNOUNCES SPIN-OFF OF IMPACT PLANNING BUSINESS
VANCOUVER, Jan 6, 2020 – Cove Continuity Advisors Inc. is proud to announce the creation of Decade Impact Strategy & Activation Inc., an independent company established to deliver industry leading impact planning services under the leadership of Kristy O’Leary and Brianna Brown.
Prior to the creation of Decade Impact, O’Leary and Brown managed Cove’s Impact Planning division to develop and execute impact strategies for for-profit companies relating to governance, environment, community, human resources, and supply chain. While Cove’s services primarily focus on Continuity Planning and Insurance, its business has been impact-driven from the start.
“At Cove, we use our business as a force for change,” says Bernie Geiss, Founder of Cove. “While we certainly look to increase revenue as a for-profit company, we are ultimately driven by something greater than money and profit. We are committed to using business and wealth to create positive social and environmental impact on the issues of our time.”
Drawing inspiration from Cove’s impact commitment, O’Leary and Brown developed a sustainable and scalable model for delivering impact strategy services to for-profit businesses of all sizes. This model was tested and validated as a division of Cove, and is now established as a separate, independent business.
Decade Impact’s vision is to see every for-profit company in Canada, and beyond, establish and implement positive and comprehensive impact strategies across their organization.
“Our fundamental desire is to see a brighter and more just world,” says O’Leary. “Every business across our country is making decisions each day that are determining the social and environmental well-being of our world. Businesses are beginning to see this power, and more importantly, businesses are increasing their commitment to use that power for good. Decade Impact is uniquely positioned to help those businesses transform their commitment into actionable and effective impact strategies.”
On the motivation to restructure, Geiss says, “The decision to separate the Impact Planning division from Cove into Decade Impact is fueled by a desire to see it grow into something larger. Moving it into a separate and independent company will allow both companies to better serve clients with focus and excellence. We are looking forward to continuing to support Decade Impact as a champion of its work, and are proud to have been a part of its story.”
